LCTN Trail Trial, October 2018

In September 2018 LCTN created Trail Trial 2018, a five-mile section of the North end Walkabout route. The Trial was open only during the month of October 2018.

The trail began at either Penny Lane at the Lopez Ferry terminal or Fisherman Bay Road at Lopez Village. Participants could start at either end of the hike, and the walk took about two hours at average walking speed.

Seven private properties were part of the Trial; the owners agreed to give permission for the public to cross their lands during this limited time. We thank these generous landowners.

Postcards at stations along the trail invited comments; we gathered positive remarks from both landowners and hikers. This experiment helped LCTN gather information on how best to enlarge our trails network on Lopez. The Trail Trial was a successful experiment and we thank everyone for their participation!
